Day 57: Charleston to Georgetown, SC

After a weekend of festivities at Beneteau’s local dealer St. Barts Yachts in Charleston, the Great Loop was ready to continue her trip. We departed the Charleston City Marina after fueling at 10:45am. We cruised past Fort Sumter, the site of the start of the Civil War. At 11:30am we entered the Intracoastal Waterway for our trip north: traveling through marsh and wetlands. Here and there were islands, all built-up with houses, condos and docks.

We arrived without any problems in Georgetown, SC at 4:00pm.

We had traveled 67 miles in 5 hours and 15 minutes. Our average speed was 12.7 nmph. We burned 53.897 gallons of fuel.
