Day 44: Dog island to Cedar Key, FL

Departed Dog Island at 6:15 am CDT and arrived at Cedar Key NW channel at 12:30 pm EDT

Up at 5 to catch up on emails. Changing from central to Eastern time zone makes for a late first light! 10 knots and waves on our starboard quarter, running at 15+ knots NW channel deeper and easier to follow than the Waterway Guide projected. City floating pier washed away a few weeks ago. Anchored out and dinghy ride to the small boat harbor made for a nice afternoon at the museum and around town. We will be off to Tarpon Springs in the morning for some Greek Food and Sponges. In our 8 hours run, we burnt 83 gallons of fuel averaging at 10.37gal/hr. 370 hours on the Cummins engine.

Wine selection - Cedar Key is not a wine kind of place - Margaritaville Premium Jamaican Spiced Rum

Best:  lunch at Tony's on Cedar Key, best clam chowder, ever.

Worst: big mosquitos at Dog island this morning.
