Day 39: Fairhope, AL to Roberts Bayou, AL

We stayed at Eastern Shore Marine in Fairhope, AL all weekend for technical revisions as well as a deep boat detailing both inside and outside. It was really necessary after this long leg from Chicago, IL to Fairhope, AL in sometimes very commercial grey waters.

Ed Wall from Eastern Shore Marine, a partner of my brokerage company Murray Yacht Sales also helped us set a little open house at his location there in Fairhope, AL. We had a great time and a few very interested couple came around to share a drink, take a look at The Greatest Loop and learn more about the whole adventure Beneteau & its sponsors have put together. Good times, and interesting to notify how many people are impacted by the project and already prepare their voyage around the American and Canadian waterways.

We departed the marina at 2.15pm and watched the sailboat race on the Mobile Bay, with a moderate chop and a few dolphins passing around. We then toured marinas and arrived in Robert’s Bayou at 6pm. Our wine selection for the night was a E.Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rose paired with Pirate’s Cove cheeseburger in paradise.

We burnt 31 gallons of fuel & the Cummins engine has now been running 330 hours since departure.

Best: dolphin sighting, great 360 visibility, quiet while running, tinted windows

Worst: where do you put your water bottle while steering?

Best,

Stanton
