Day 19: Blind River to Gore Bay, ON

We left Blind River at 9am, our destination Gore Bay. On the way over to Gore Bay we visited the Benjamin Islands an incredible collection of quartz and pink Granite. Along with the Whalesback, these Islands are considered some of the most beautiful cruising grounds in the world. Pam and Ken Blodgett owners of Canadian Yacht Charters say it best in the first paragraph of  their charter brochure  " Imagine pink granite Islands millions of years old, with windswept pines and scattered  of the throughout a 120 mile expanse of the bluest freshwater in the world.  Dozens of untainted anchorages, secret gunk holes and quaint harbor towns fill the canvas with endless possibilities"

Ken and Pam Run a first class operation, a fleet of sailboats several Jeanneaus up to 50 feet, Catamanans, and trawlers. They also run a store with a wide selection of charts, chandlery, guide books, gear, even food and other necessaries. Gore Bay has grown a lot in the past few years.
